About CEF
  • Founded in 1997, the Camas Education Foundation (CEF) serves as a bridge between community and schools aimed at achieving excellence in education.
  • Through June 2007, the foundation has funded over 280 innovative grant requests from teachers, parents, and administrators.
  • CEF grants funds have been used to purchase materials and equipment and enable programs in social studies, history, the arts, math and science, reading and language arts, leadership and mentoring, media, communications, and physical education.

Joe Keller is proactively working to support youth, education and the arts in his community.

As a board member of the Camas Education Foundation (CEF), Keller helps lead academic enrichment programs impacting more than 5,000 students in the Camas School District.

Located in Vancouver, Wash., CEF, a non-profit volunteer group, is dedicated to achieving excellence in education. The group, in partnership with Camas schools, strives to inspire and motivate students through enhanced learning programs such as student mentoring, hands-on math and science learning, art festivals and author visits, classroom-based technology materials and equipment, and early reading programs.

Over the years, Keller has served on the foundation's board in many capacities including president, mini-grants-chair, marketing chair and auction procurement chair.

In addition to his work with CEF, Keller volunteers his time and talents to several other local organizations including Community Action Committee for Schools, New Blue Parrot, Portland Taiko Theater, School House Supply and Oregon Nikki. He also finds time to coach a youth soccer team.

Keller was nominated as a Symetra Community Champion by Jeff Mansur of the Fournier Group.

"Joe's commitment to the youth in our community is truly outstanding,” said Mansur. "His efforts have resulted in the creation of educational opportunities for thousands of Camas students in kindergarten through high school."
